Bluefish is an editor targeted towards programmers and webdevelopers, with many options to write websites, scripts and programming code. Bluefish supports many programming and markup languages.

Steps to Installing Bluefish
Go to Bluefish Website .
Before downloading check for the latest Bluefish release.
As of 2022-Oct-15, the latest release is Nov 5 - Bluefish 2.2.12 release . Note this you want to make sure to download the latest exe .
Click Download .
Click Win32 installer for Windows 10 or OSX installer for Mac.
The 2 files to be downloaded are at the top of the list:
Bluefish-2.2.12rc2-setup.exe.shal
Bluefish-2.2.12rc2-setup.exe
The sha1 file can be used to check and verify the exe file.
Click on each file and in a few seconds each will begin downloading:
Bluefish-2.2.12rc2-setup.exe.shal
Bluefish-2.2.12rc2-setup.exe
The exe file downloaded using Chrome:
Open and run the exe file.
Pick your langauge and click OK .
Click Next .
Click Next .
Check the components - scrolling when necessary.
I don't like desktop shortcuts so I uncheck Desktop Shortcut .

When you have finished checking the components, click Next .
The default location works just fine, click Next .
The default Start Menu Folder works just fine. I check Do not create shortcuts . Click Install .
When installation is completed, click Next .
When setup completed, click Finish .
Click Bluefish in the Start Menu to start Bluefish.

I like doing the Pin to taskbar action.
Ready to start coding. Use use Edit → Preferences to see the default settings and make changes if you want.
